I promise it’s not as scary as it sounds. I understand it’s probably the most intimidating because who wants to talk about money, you know? But the thing is, we have to do this to get to the fun stuff! The home tours, the accepted offers, and the getting the keys part! The pre-approval process is actually so important for you to go through prior to starting your home search because you’ll be able to sit down with a lender and determine what you can realistically afford. Sometimes, on paper, you can afford a lot more than you actually want to be spending on a mortgage. It’s important to find out things like what type of loan is right for you, how much you’ll have to put down, how much your closing costs will be, and all the things.
